GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) OFFICER
The GIS Officer is responsible for managing all geographic information, digital maps, spatial data, and geographic monitoring activities during the mock census.
Responsibilities:
1. Verify Enumeration Area (EA) boundaries.
2. Support field teams in locating and identifying EAs.
3. Monitor geographic coverage and field movement.
4. Manage GPS and geospatial datasets.
5. Produce and update census maps.
6. Resolve geographic and boundary-related issues.
7. Validate geographic coordinates collected during fieldwork.
8. Generate spatial reports and coverage maps.
9. Support monitoring of hard-to-reach and hard-to-count areas.
10. Maintain GIS databases and archives.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Surveying, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or related field. Possession of a masters degree is an added advantage.
2. Practical experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.).
3. Knowledge of GPS and spatial data management.
4. Experience supporting digital data collection systems, tablets, mobile applications, or field ICT operations.
5. Experience in census or survey data collection.
6. Experience in mapping projects or census cartography.
7. Strong analytical and map interpretation skills.
